First of all, I’d like to say it’s crazy that I’ve been here for over two months already! Time is going by crazy fast.
The very beginning of my exchange was packed full of new and amazing things! Starting with language camp. Language camp was so much fun! I got to meet all of the other exchange students staying in Poland this year. The polish lessons were also very helpful. Next was the orientation in Warsaw. That was also very fun! After that I came home and tried to prepare myself for the first day of school, even though I had no clue what I was doing.
The first few weeks of school were very stressful for me because I still wasn’t used to the swing of things. Now that I’m used to it, I find school kind of fun. Even though I can’t really understand much. Being the only exchange student in Biała Podlaska, I knew I would have to make polish friends. At first it was really hard because everyone is so shy and self conscious of their english skills. After a little while though they opened up to me, and started talking more. Now I have a few good friends that I hang out with outside of school. It is a little hard to do things outside of school with my friends because they are all so busy studying for school, but we make it work.
I also do things with my host mother. She has brought me to Warsaw multiple times, and also a lot of the smaller towns around my area. There’s so much history here, and I love learning about it.
So far my exchange has been a life changing experience, and I’m so so excited to see what comes in the next 7 months!
Attached are pictures from my adventures! Some from Warsaw, some from the small towns around my area, and some with my friends.
