November 2016

I arrived in Poland on the 17th of August in the airport of Katowice, that is near Tychy, the city where I live. I had 17 hours of flight that seemed like eternity. I was confused, tired and nervous to meet my nem family and to know my new home for this year. Well, my first days here were a little sad, I was missing my city, my family and friends. After a few days I went to Bydgoszcz for the Rotary meeting and had the chance to know all the other 60 exchange students and start learning Polish. Was for me, one of the happiest 9 days of my life and since this day I have friends all over the world.

After this time I started school, that is for me the worst part. Many hours sitting, doing nothing, hearing a hard language and trying to understand something is not a nice thing. Can’t forget to say that people here are really cold and closed, so it’s hard to make friends. My favorite part continue being the weekends, where my family usually travel with me. I have been to Slovakian, aquatic parks, lakes, moutains, weedings and so many beautiful cities, castles and museus that it’s hard not be in love with Poland. We had other meeting with exchange students and I can say that they are for sure the best kind of people I know! I really like spending time with my family, I feel very confortable with them and I don’t want to think about changing home because for sure it will make me cry.

Can’t forget to say that I have been in a lot of Rotary meetings, concerts for charity and things like that. One other thing that makes me wonder is the Autumn here. It’s all so beautiful, the leaves at the street, the yellow and orange in the forests and the trees. I heard that the winter is even more beautiful than that, so I am waiting to see this and I hope snows a lot this year! Besides all, since I arrived here my life has become an amazing adventure. Being in an exchage is a rollercoaster of feelings and most of the time I can’t stop thinking how lucky I am to have this opportunity! I am in love with Poland and can’t imagine myself in another country. For sure it was the best choice of my life! Excited to see what waits for me in the next months, but I am pretty sure that will be nothing less than incredible!
